Summer is right around the corner...blog

I promise I will keep this up to date...This is the last time I fall behind =)

I have a "mock" bouquet put together for a bride to be which i may end up doing her flowers. I wanted to show her that dark purple Lisianthus, Calla Lilly's, Hydrangeas, Stock and lime Hypericum berries would be a pretty color combination.

Today Cole and I went to fly a kite in the "Kites Over Kingston" but our kite didnt quite fly...oh well...we had a great time. It's those little things that are the most fun. If I can teach Cole anything it is to appreciate the little things in life.

I can feel summer is right around the corner. The next few months are going to zoom on by. We have so many things planned that I am getting excited for summer. Next weekend is the Tulip Festival, cant wait.

Back to Normal...Vegas blog...

Well first off I have to apologize for the delay in my blog site. I have been very busy but feel like I'm pretty much back to normal. I just returned from Las Vegas for a work conference which definately had it's ups and downs...more ups than downs. I stayed at the Paris Las Vegas and it was beautiful, the picture is from a phone if you can believe that!! My mom and dad had Cole for four days and boy did I miss that little guy. I'm glad to be home.
Before I left for the trip I went to the flower shop and ended up making some cube arrangements for a wedding. The wedding colors were all pinks but different colors of pinks which was fun. This particular arrangement had Gerbera Daisy's, Lillies, Snapdragons, Tulips, Roses, Wax Flower and Hypericum Berries all in a black cube which makes the colors POP!! It was fun and I love the feeling of contributing to such a special and memorable day.

Week of Family, Flowers and Fun...blog

This week my Father and Step Mother flew in from Florida and I of course had them stay with me. It was hectic at times with Cole "showing off" and out of routine but I miss my dad and love it when we catch up. We had a family get together here and had my sister's family, My Mother and Step father, Aunts, Cousins and family friends come for ALOT of food! It was sad to see them go but Cole and I are back to normal and with work and potty training, thats not such a bad thing.

At the Flower shop we are gearing up for the Holiday. Valentines Day is going to be a busy one. The orders are coming in quickly and there are vases already green'd up waiting for the flowers to fill up the space. These pave style cubes are great especially with the black cube and hot pink carnations. In the floral industry im finding out the Valentines Day is called the "VD" because its so incredibly busy and there really isn't any celebrating for the employees and owners of the shops...They work right through it. Lots of Pink and Red everywhere when you walk into the work area!!

On a personal note...Cole is potty training and I feel like every other word is potty, pee or poop...He is getting it and feeling like he's a big boy now. There is nothing like coming in the front door and him saying "Mamma's home" and running for a hug. Tomorrow will be the first day at day care potty training, so Im actually a little nervous for him, wanting him to do good...Im sure this is what it will feel like as he grows and Me his Mother wanting so badly for him to do "good". Potty training is just the begining and the rest little by little is up to him, with alot of encouragement!

Corsage Night...Blog

Last night was all about the teenagers dance for Saturday. I made some corsages which are very time consuming and messy...my hands were full of glue and spray paint! In the end it always turns out pretty. This corsage is made with pink spray roses and wax flower, and pink ribbon to match her dress. The wax flower as a filler just tops it off...

Roses For You...Blog

On Sunday Cole and I took the ferry to visit Christina and Abigail. Christina had planned to get the two kiddo's dressed up in vintage like clothing and take pictures of them. She is a photographer in Silverdale and needed to send a Valentines day Ad out...she bought roses, a pin striped jacket and of course Abigail was in her tutu! When we got to her site of course it started raining...The kids were great and there was a couple great shots...Cole made the Ad with this photo. When we pulled up to the site where Christina wanted to take the photo's Cole said "Abigail pitty pincess" especially in her tutu. It was a good day. Its always a good day with Christina.

Roses, Roses and More Roses...Blog

Valentines Day is quickly approaching and I wanted to use multi colored roses instead of the traditional red roses. It took me a little bit to understand the length issues when arranging a bouquet with long stem roses. I am definately not a baby's breath kind of girl so I went with a woody type of filler that turned out very pretty. I also did a cube arrangment that was very fragrant because the purple stock. The beargrass added a twist to it and I'm sure the receipient of this cube will have a smile on her face.

On a personal note...I had a nice talk with a woman tonight that gave me some good advise on life experience...or just "an experience" as she put it. Sometimes there are decisions in life where you should listen to those who care for you most. Thank You mother!!

Cole found some of my hair pins and wanted to put them in my hair. I bent down to his level and he put them in my hair and said "mamma's a pincess"!! I guess he's right, in my own way Mommy is a Princess...

Every girl needs flowers...blog

I was working at the Flower Shop tonight and a man called in. He didn't quite know what he wanted but he mentioned Orchids. I asked him what other flowers he wanted in the arrangment...He said "Im not good at this"...I said "yes you are" and he laughed!! What I really meant was who ever his lady is...he is doing it right and he is very good at "this". I told him I would make him an arrangment that I would love and he agreed. When he picked up his flowers he had a nice smile on his handsome face and he said "its perfect she will love it"...It made me smile too!

Bridal Bouquet Blog

I had alot of fun with this bridal bouquet...the little stephanotis flowers were so delicate but gave off the most fragrant smell. Her wedding colors were black and white so I ended up putting a black pearl in the stephanotis which was fun. This was a hand tied bouquet that was a complete wrap with a white bow where her hand meets the under side of the bouquet.

My First Blog

My Best Friend is a wonderful mother and friend. I want to be like her in many ways. Today I went to the mailbox and opened a package to find a beautiful red round pendant that had the most wonderfully detailed swirls in sterling silver. She is thoughtful, insightful, incredibly talented and my absolute soul mate!! Love you Christina...
